How We Rank

Every ranking on DedicatedReview follows the same documented process. This page explains exactly how providers earn their positions — and what cannot influence them.

Our evaluation criteria

Each provider is scored across five weighted categories:

Value for money (30%) — hardware specs (CPU generation, RAM, NVMe vs. SATA storage, bandwidth) relative to monthly price, including renewal pricing, setup fees, and contract terms.
Performance & reliability (25%) — network quality, data center standards, uptime guarantees and the SLA behind them, and consistency reported by long-term customers.
Support & management (20%) — response speed and competence of support, and what "managed" actually includes: OS patching, security hardening, monitoring, and migration help.
Locations & network reach (15%) — number and spread of data centers, and suitability for specific markets (for example, a Tokyo presence for our Japan rankings).
Features & flexibility (10%) — DDoS protection, backups, control panels, custom configurations, upgrade paths, and money-back guarantees.

Where our information comes from

We combine providers' published specifications and pricing, independent uptime and latency data where available, aggregated customer reviews across multiple platforms, and hands-on experience with provider control panels and support channels. Every listing is re-checked periodically, and reader corrections (via our contact page) are investigated within days.

What cannot influence rankings

Providers cannot pay for placement on this site. We earn affiliate commissions from some providers (see our Affiliate Disclosure), but commission rates play no role in scoring. We rank providers we earn nothing from when they merit it, and a provider offering us a higher commission moves nowhere.

Limitations, honestly stated

No review site tests every configuration of every provider continuously — claims to the contrary should make you suspicious. Prices and promotions change weekly; where we show prices, they are entry-level approximations clearly marked as such, and the provider's own site is always the source of truth. Our rankings are our editorial opinion, formed by the process above.
